Every piece tells a story
Gemheaven Jewellery was started in 2006. Someone who has
Cornwall and all its beauty in my heart and soul, my work is heavily
influenced by the Cornish coastline and wilds of the moors.
Always creative, but never quite finding my true potential with art or design until I first started making and designing jewellery.
Initially, I worked with sea glass and base metals, then moving onto the style of wirewrapping gemstones and using artisan lampwork beads in my work, until I finally took a weekend course at a local jewellery school and moved onto sterling silver, feeling drawn to the metal and colours of gemstones to create work that is instantly recognisable by my clients.
Based in mid-Cornwall on the south coast, I work from my little studio, at the top of the garden that we built by hand !
I’m, luckily, only a short walk away from the rugged coastline and beautiful scenery that inspires me season by season.
I’m not only influenced by the Cornish landscape, you will often find elements of history, myth, magic and legends in my work, and of course, many of them are Cornish Tales and Folklores. My work is often described as weatherworn or weather-beaten, rustic in nature and my style as beautifully bohemian.
You’ll find Gemheaven Jewellery being worn by my collectors all over the world. The beauty is that every piece is unique or limited, as each piece is handcrafted and lovingly made.
My Work
All work is completed by me in my studio on the east coast of Cornwall using traditional silver work techniques. Each piece has a little piece of the heart and soul of Cornwall and many pieces are unique or limited edition.
My heavier pieces are hallmarked with my Makers Mark in accordance to the British Assay Office ~ I am registered with The London Assay Office and I am also a member of the Guild of Jewellery Designers
