Mabon - Autumn Equinox

Celebrated 21st September - 22nd September

Here in the Northern Hemisphere we have just left the warmth of Summer, the light mornings and evenings have now started to leave us and there is a definate chill in the air.

Did you know the Mabon festival is named after the Welsh God of Mythology. On the Wheel of the Year we are exactly opposite the Spring Equinox Ostara . This is when night and day are of equal length, dark and light. We are transitioning into the darker months, where the sun looses its power and the trees turn to turn their leaves to firey oranges and golds and reds.

On my journey I am learning about each festival - Mabon was celebrated 21st- 22nd September - a time for walks, and collecting nature, planting bulbs and eating delicious foods.
