Materials Used

With each piece of jewellery for sale I've written a brief description of the materials used but I always use sterling, fine or Karen Hill Tribe Silver with the odd mix of Gold Filled.. Below is the materials I love to use and why - if you have any questions or would like a similar piece made please email me.

Karen Hill Tribe Silver

Hill Tribe silver is handcrafted by the Karen Hill Tribe using traditional methods. The silver content is usually between 95% and 99% and each piece is unique.

Lampwork

A favourite lampwork artist of mine is Isabelle Anderson of Flame & Glass - you will see her glass beads all over my website. Isabelle's lampworked beads are made in her studio in South Wales, and each bead is kiln annealed for added strength and durability so with careful use they should last thousands of years!! Beautiful organic beads with the hint of nature to inspire me - at times I think Isabelle lives almost next door as her beads sing to me with inspiration from the Cornish shores!

Caroline Hannon of Crafted Gems creates her organic beads in Aberdeenshire where she has her studio where all the beads are made and annealled by Caroline, "glass seems to have taken over my life" she says regulary - while constantly tempting me with blue beads!!!!!!!!

Beverley Hicklin graduated as a mature student from Winchester School of Art with a BA (Hons) degree in Textile Design and worked as a freelance textile designer specialising in weave, she then resurrected a lifelong love of jewellery-making and launched her own designs. After being unable to find the style of bead Beverley wanted for her designs, in typical artistic spirit, she decided to try and make her own beads. As a beadmaker beverley is self taught and with her background in art and design, finds herself continually striving to push forward to discover new and exciting ideas and techniques. You have to admit her beads are something special!

Bali Silver

I'll only use the highest quality of Bali Silver - similar to karen Hill TRibe in silver content.

Gemstones

I love to use gemstones in my pieces as there is so much more to them then just being a semi - precious stone. Below I've put the birthstones (for that Birth bracelet moment!!) But will add anniversary stones as I find them out.
